Teacher in an ESL classroom has a responsibility to interact with the students of the class. Teachers always keep in touch with the students and ask questions from the student and when the teacher enters the classroom, with comparable training in accounting and pedagogy. It's also a major influence that affects the intellectual interaction between both parties.

Communication is also another factor that can develop intellectual interaction . If the teacher is talking to rapt rows of students, it’s very harmful to interaction. When a teacher communicates better it leads to students’ mutual understanding and mutual respect toward the teacher. So this way of communication contributes to making a bridge called intellectual interaction to keep a positive relationship between the students and the teachers. 

Good teachers' communication influence encourages the students' persuasion, self-advocacy, and questioning. These facts close the gap between the teacher and the students, it improves intellectual interaction.


Ways of intellectual interaction-

In Addition, emotional support, classroom organization, and instructional support are other things that build up students' interaction with the teacher.

Teachers can conduct discussions of the lesson with students and answer the questions that are asked by the students. The assessment scoring system also causes the interaction. Teachers can lead the students to an accurate path, Giving feedback is the best method for that. Then the teacher can show the negative and positive things individually, and also appreciate the positive things in the assessment. This leads to students’ encouragement of the lesson and this is emotional support and it makes strong interaction between students and the teacher.

In the classroom activities, students are engaged with the teacher and then they are motivated to do the task. It shows how well the classroom runs with respect and understanding. Though instructional support is a significant thing that develops critical thinking among students. These instructional discussions and activities uplift intellectual interaction among the teacher and the students. Teachers should know students' proficiency levels and then teachers can improve their skills. Not only that creates a welcoming learning environment great opportunity to make students feel comfortable. So teachers’ friendly manner among the students in the teaching process effect interaction. Special concern about the classroom organization, sometimes students make mistakes and in their failures teacher should give chances to them and guide them to go in the right path is also a significant fact in ESL classroom.  That thing encourages students to be more successful in their learning process. Teachers can give encouragement to the students whenever they need help as well. Teachers' role is a very crucial factor in intellectual interaction with the students. Teacher and the students' interaction increase movement to movement while continuously both parties engage in the lesson. The teacher asks questions and students answer those questions and give time to answer the questions. It develops students’ critical thinking. Teachers should know to get all students' attention by doing fun games or activities regarding the lesson that avoid students’ laziness, they nicely engage with the lesson.









Importance of Intellectual interaction-

So intellectual interaction between teacher and students, it causes to learning and growth of the students and enhances their mental well-being. This positive interaction assists to students' academic growth and it develops the enthusiasm of the students in class. When students engage with the teacher in the classroom it builds up their critical and creative thinking, teamwork, and decision-making skills. The teacher should have a plan, and design a schedule for improving the weak side of the language. It motivates the students and it is one of the basic steps to creating the best intellectual interaction with students. So those are major facts that increase intellectual interaction among teachers and learners.

  5. Hi Numasha. Your article is interesting. But, in the beginning, your idea is unclear. What do you mean by saying teachers need comparable training in accounting and pedagogy? I think your idea is not clear. With time teachers enhance their pedagogical journey. ESL teachers need basic mathematical knowledge not the whole knowledge in accounting. In the middle section, your ideas are in a jumbled manner. The three categories are not described concisely. In the last section, you said that designing a schedule for improving the weak side of language, not students. I don’t think any language has weak sides. Overall, your ideas in this article is very interesting.

  8. Interesting article. However the emphasize is mostly upon the teacher's role in teaching process. You have nicely showed about the strategies to increase the intellectual interaction. It would be great if you could have mention about how the relationship between the student and the teacher will improve the student's critical thinking and creativity. I think in order to have the fruitful interaction it the teacher's role to make students talk. But more than being answering the questions that ask by the students, the teacher should be able to make students engage with the process in more fruitful manner.

  Increasing intellectual interaction among the learners and the teacher in an ESL classroom can be indicated as an essential requirement in the teaching learning process. This idea of intellectual interaction can be understood as developing higher order thinking skills of the learner interlocutors within the classroom discourse community through instruction interaction and peer interaction.
